The Labour Campaign for International Development, will have the opportunity to nominate in the current 2026 Labour Leadership contest. 

Ahead of that LCID invited Andy Burnham to provide a statement to our members.

We are grateful to Andy for providing the statement and affirming his commitment to leading an internationally focused party.

After the leadership contest is over, we will continue to work to ensure that the Labour Government uses every opportunity it has to be progressive and globally focused, including meeting our manifesto promises on the aid budget, and using the G20 Summit that the UK is hosting in 2027 to accelerate progress on debt.
